Teachers

All ILI teachers are skilled professionals with Masters degrees or TESOL certificate and a minimum of one year in student-centered teaching. They use the most modern and innovative teaching methods to encourage maximum student participation and feedback. The language is made real and immediately usable outside the classroom through simulations, interviews and dialogues prepared from real-life situations as well as discussions and games. See our Staff Info page for teacher’s bios.

Support Services

ILI is committed to providing student support. Students are assisted individually, so that their transition into their new community is as comfortable as possible. The staff is available for personal support, in addition to academic and cultural counseling. Extra help is available to all students through our volunteer tutor program, which pairs students with community members for additional conversational practice and individual help. Students also have access to an Internet-connected computer lab.

Housing

Arrangements are made for students to stay with area hosts. A $175 per week fee includes a room with meals or $125 per week fee includes a room with kitchen privileges. Host families live within walking distance of the school, or on a bus route. We cannot guarantee a family for a student who gives us less than 2 months notice. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a family for a student who smokes. A student may have more than one host family during his or her stay at ILI . There are more housing opportunities for students who decide to rent a car. Arrangements can also be made for students to stay at one of the many comfortable hotels and Bed and Breakfasts nearby. Our Living with an American Family pamphlet gives more information for prospective students.

If you need housing please fill out a Housing Application and return it with your Intensive English Program application.
